Bi-Rite is a San Francisco-based chain of small, but super high quality grocery stores. Everything in the store is typically the top of its class. It’s like Whole Foods on steroids. We typically shop here for small things (rather than everyday groceries) as it’s very pricey. It’s really good for picnics in Dolores Park.
Talking to the Bi-Rite cheesemonger and grabbing some some slabs of awesome California cow or goat’s milk dairy from farms near SF. Pair these with some choice wine from their awesome selection.
If you’re not in the mood for dairy, try some of the cookies or grab some fresh fruit. They usually have blood oranges and other special produce.
Bi-Rite’s in-house ice cream is also some of the best around. Period. It’s so popular that they’ve opened a separate ice cream-only location just up the street on 18th. We typically don’t go there because the lines are always really long (particularly at peak times like the middle of the day), but you can grab pints (which are also cheaper than the shop by volume) in the freezer in back.
Just show up!
Yep, we vetted it already.
